The following is a list of all the birds I am certain that I have correctly identified either on the ground or settled in a tree within or visible from the garden, and flying overhead.

Anything bearing the Hover for more information icon is obviously a recent addition. Hovering over the icon will give a little more information.

Grey Heron Sparrowhawk Kestrel Pheasant
Snipe Woodpigeon Collared Dove Barn Owl
Swift Great Spotted Woodpecker Swallow House Marten
Pied Wagtail Wren Dunnock Robin
Blackbird Song Thrush Redwing Mistle Thrush
Blackcap Long-tailed Tit Coal Tit Blue Tit
Great Tit Jay Magpie Jackdaw
Rook Carrion Crow Starling House Sparrow
Tree Sparrow Chaffinch Greenfinch Goldfinch
Siskin Bullfinch Hawfinch Goldcrest
Mallard Willow tit Seen by torchlight on New Year's Eve 2005 perched on telegraph pole at side of garden and then flying off - identified by call first.Tawny owl

There are also several birds which I have not been careful to identify flying overhead (like gulls). Whilst we might not expect the likes of swifts to land in the garden, I think it's important that I record that we have never had a starling land anywhere in the garden, and overflying is very rare. I don't understand this.
